The head of external equity managers at AP2 has departed the Swedish buffer fund for a US-based think tank.
Mimmi Kheddache-Jendeby joined the Center for Applied Research (CAR), State Street’s think tank, earlier this month and will be vice-president and senior research strategist.
She graduated from the University of Gothenburg in 2003 with a masters in industrial and financial economics and was hired immediately by AP2, only leaving in early January.
Kheddache-Jendeby spent several years at the fund as portfolio manager for external mandates and was most recently head of equity for external managers.
A spokeswoman for AP2 confirmed that the buffer fund had filled the vacancy with an internal appointment but declined to name the replacement.
The fund has more than SEK280bn (€30.5bn) in assets and employs external managers for global equity and credit strategies, emerging market sovereign debt and some of its alternative mandates – including its holdings in Chinese A shares.
In 2014, it overhauled the way in which it manages its emerging market holdings, bringing a majority of the mandates in-house.
CAR, which was established in 2011, conducts primary and secondary search projects spanning several years.
It has partnerships with the Boston University Center for Finance, Law & Policy and Tufts University, which is home to the Fletcher Network for Sovereign Wealth and Global Capital.
