GLOBAL - CEIOPS, Pension Protection Fund, Association of British Insurers, AP3, JP Morgan Asset Management, Pitmans Trustees Limited, Martin Currie Investment Management, Invesco Asset Management, Pictet Funds
Committee of Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS) - Gabriel Bernardino, of the Instituto de Seguros de Portugal, has been elected as the new chairman of CEIOPS, and Antoine Mantel from the French Autorité de Contrôle des Assurances et des Mutuelles has been appointed vice-chairman.
In addition Tony Hobman of the UK Pensions Regulator (TPR), Joanne Kellermann from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), Flavia Mazzarella from Italy's Istituto per la Vigilanza sulle Assicurazioni Private e di Interesse Collettivo, and Csaba Varga of the Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority have all been elected as members of the CEIOPS managing board.
Pension Protection Fund (PPF) - The PPF has appointed John Bevington as a non-executive director to its board. Bevington recently retired as chief executive of Leatherhead Food Industrial and has previously served on several boards in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the UK, in addition to working for Shell and Unilever in head office strategic roles.
Association of British Insurers (ABI) - Kerrie Kelly, currently executive director and chief executive of the Insurance Council of Australia, has been appointed as the new director general of the ABI. Kelly will take up her new role in February 2010 replacing Stephen Haddrill who will leave to join the Financial Reporting Council on 13 November 2009. Maggie Craig, director of life & savings, will be the acting director general in the interim period.
Third Swedish National Pension Fund (AP3) - The Swedish government has appointed Inga-Lill Carlberg, currently head of Nordea Private Banking in Sweden, as a new member of AP3's board of directors.
JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) - Didier Lambert, Alain Defise and Michal Wozniak have joined the firm in London as senior portfolio managers in the emerging markets debt team as part of JPMAM's strategy to build a global fixed income team. All three join from Fortis Investments and will report to Bob Michele, the global chief investment officer for fixed income.
Pitmans Trustees Limited (PTL) - Darren Jefferson has been appointed as a manager for the independent trustee and governance provider. He joins the firm from Mercer and will focus on new business development and client management in the north of England.
Martin Currie Investment Management - Christine Montgomery and Neil Robson are to join the firm's global equities team by the end of the year. Montgomery, previously investment partner at Edinburgh Partners, will take responsibility for EAFE (Europe, Australia & Far East) and All Country World index (ACWI) ex US mandates. Robson joins from Pioneer Investments where he was head of global equities, and he will work with the team to manage global strategies.
Invesco Asset Management - Zainab Kufaishi as been appointed institutional account manager for Invesco's Dubai-based Middle East operations. Kufaishi joins from Fidelity where she worked in the Middle East Institutional Marketing and UK Institutional Sales and Marketing teams.
Pictet Funds - The fund distribution arm of the Swiss private bank Pictet & Cie, has appointed Emma Stenzel as sales manager for southern England. She joins from Schroders where she spent 10 years as advisory business team manager.
