UK – ABN Amro Asset Management has appointed Andrew King as the new head of Europe, Australasia and Far East (EAFE) portfolio management and head of North American equities.
This is a new position, created to establish a second independent team with a global remit, said an ABN Amro spokesperson.
King, 43, was previously head of Australian equities for ABN Amro Asset Management for five years. He has been replaced by George Clapham, who worked with him in Sydney.
Based in the UK, King will report to equities chief investment officer Kevin Smith and equity management head Gerco Goote.
“With his experience of creating the Australian equity team, Andrew is the ideal person to establish a new London-based team for the EAFE product,” said Smith, commenting on the appointment.
Andrew will be responsible for building the EAFE track record by creating a team of roughly four international equity managers in London, said an ABN Amro press statement released today.
In his capacity as head of North American equities, he will be responsible for the investment process and performance of five equity teams. He will also chair the North American Performance and Process Review Committee.
Before joining ABN Amro Asset Management, King was director for Prudential Portfolio Managers in Singapore for a year.
ABN Amro Asset Management has €173.2bn-worth of assets under management from more than 20 global locations.
