NETHERLANDS – Huibert Boumeester has been appointed to head up ABN AMRO Asset Management.

In a series of senior management changes at ABN AMRO, Boumeester has been named as the replacement for Tom Cross Brown, who announced his retirement as head of ABN AMRO Asset Management earlier this year. Boumeester currently heads up the business unit, integrated energy, in the wholesale clients department. He will start his new role on 1 January 2004.

ABN AMRO’s chief executive officer for the Netherlands, Floris Deckers is also leaving. After 22 years with the business he is moving on to become chairman of the managing board of Van Lanschot. He is to be replaced by Jan Peter Schmittmann, who currently heads up the private clients and new growth markets business units. He takes up his new role today, and is replaced by Lex Kloosterman.

ABN AMRO’s Asset Management business has a presence in 30 countries and manages 154 billion euros (as of end June 2003).
