NETHERLANDS – ABP Investments fundamental stock selection fund manager Erna Boogaard has quit to become external management head at Pearl Group – entrepreneur Hugh Osmond’s UK-based life assurance fund investment vehicle. (updated)
IPE understands Boogaard will be answering to former ABP capital markets chief investment officer Jan Straatman, who resigned in November 2005 to become CIO at Pearl. He started his new position on March 1.
A spokesperson for Pearl today confirmed Boogaard had been appointed, but declined to comment further. IPE understands that she has already moved to the UK to take up her new position.
Neither Straatman nor Boogaard were available for comment.
IPE reported in February that ABP’s Edwina Neal was appointed successor to Straatman as chief investment officer of equities and a member of the board.
She is responsible for ABP’s €70bn equities portfolio, and reports to CIO Roderick Munsters.
The ABP Investments Board is chaired by Munsters. Other members include alternative investment CIO Paul Spijkers, chief operating officer Ton Berendson and asset allocation and research CIO Tom Steenkamp.
