NETHERLANDS – AEGON has appointed Martijn Tans to the management board of the AEGON Pension Network.
He will serve as vice president responsible for product development and marketing. He joins managing director Frans van der Horst and sales director Frank Randall on the board.
This is a new position at the network. “We are in build mode,” a spokesperson told IPE.
Tans joins from AEGON The Netherlands, where he filled key business development roles for the past eight years. Before this, he was research and development chief at Dutch asset management company Robeco.
The AEGON Pension Network – established in 2005 - was set up with the expertise of AEGON's partner in France, La Mondiale, as well as with the cooperation of AEGON subsidiaries in the UK, the Netherlands, and the USA.
Its aim is to assist multinational corporations with creating European or global pension solutions.
"Martijn’s track record is outstanding -- we are very pleased to have him on board to drive our product development and marketing,” said Van der Horst.
“This fills a critical need and we expect his arrival to be real catalyst to the overall development of our AEGON Pension Network business.”
In February, HDI Pensionsmanagement - a member company of German insurance giant the Talanx Group - joined Aegon Pension Network.
The addition of HDI gave the network a presence in Germany for the very first time. The network also covers France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, the Czech Republic, the UK and US
