* New Telia pension fund head *
Peter Antonsson has been appointed to head the Farsta-based Telia pensionsstiftelse (pension fund) for Swedish telecommunications company Telia.
Antonsson formerly worked as the treasurer for the city of Stockholm before joining the pension fund as a chief financial officer last May. Hans Pehrson, the former director of the fund, has taken up the position of financial manager of the telecommunications company.
* Garrett-Cox to steer Aberdeen investment *
Katherine Garrett-Cox has been promoted to chief investment officer of Aberdeen Asset Management.
Garret-Cox joined Aberdeen last September from Hill Samuel.
Rupert Della-Porta will take over her responsibilities for US equity management.
* AMVESCAP names new executives *
AMVESCAP has announced a number of new executive appointments.
Michael Benson and Robert Graham have both been elected vice chairman of the board of directors.
Mark Williamson has been named chief executive officer of its managed products division and James Robertson will be the new chief executive officer of AMVESCAP Group Services.
Rob Hain joins the company’s executive board.
* Rothschild snares DKW staff *
Richard Millward, Andrew Sandars and Richard Turner have left Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DKW) to join investment bank Rothschild. Millward, previously head of project finance advisory business at DKW, has been appointed director of a team advising and arranging debt finance for infrastructure projects in the UK and Europe. Sandars and Turner, who formerly led a transport and infrastructure project finance team at DKW, join as assistant directors for debt finance in the infrastructure sector.
* Legal alliance appoints*
Four new lawyers have joined the pensions law team at Linklaters & Alliance, the law partnership of five European law firms.
Deidre Grossman joins from New York law firm Proskauer Rose. Carol Jones and Jason Coates both move from the Birmingham based Wragge & Co. Philip Jelley joins from the Sheffield office of Nabarro Nathanson.
* EFDS business development *
Ian C Harris has been appointed director of business development at European Financial Data Services (EFDS), with the responsibility for advising clients on process design and system utilisation.
Ian Hughes, formerly of Britannic Assurance, also joins EFDS as head of FAST customer administration.
* Topp move *
Garry Topp has been appointed by Henderson Global Investors as socially responsible investment (SRI) business development director.
Topp moves to SRI from the company’s UK retail team.
* Mercury rising *
Mercury Private Equity has announced the appointment of two strategy analysts.
David Runge, previously at Paribas, will join Mercury’s Frankfurt office, and Stuart Widdowson, formerly at Coba Group, will be located in London.
* McClen to BAM *
Catherine McClen has moved to Baring Asset Management to take the position of credit fund manager responsible mainly for European credit portfolios. McClen joins from Nomura Asset Management where she was a global fixed income fund manager and credit analyst.
* Edwards’takes up FP&P position *
Chris Edwards joins Fabien Pictet & Partners as a manager of a Latin America portfolio. Edwards joins from Henderson Global Investors where he was responsible for Latin American mutual funds and pension assets.
* New MSCI hedge head *
Michel Serieyssol has been appointed global head of MSCI’s hedge fund index business. Serieyssol, previously head of European prime brokerage services at Bear Stearns, will be based in London.
