** Aon boosts London investment consulting practice **
Aon Consulting in London has announced a major expansion of its UK investment consulting practice with a raft of appointments.
Derek Huish, previously number two in Entegria’s investment department comes on board as a senior investment consultant where he is joined by Richard Slater, formerly of Bacon & Woodrow and CAPS, as an investment consultant.
The appointments bring the number in Aon’s London investment consulting division to 15.
** Lester to authority position **
David Lester has joined INVESCO Asset Management as a consultant on local authority pension funds. His role will be to raise INVESCO’s profile in the UK local authority pension fund market and advise on local authority pension fund issues. Lester, moving from the position of director of finance at the London Borough of Sutton, has over forty years of experience in the local authorities field.
** Langford to strengthen Nomura European marketing team **
Nomura Asset Management UK has boosted its marketing team by hiring Trevor Langford as institutional marketing manager.
Langford, who joins from Winterthur Life, will focus on securing sub-advisory mandates for Nomura across a number of European countries including the UK.
** KPA Fonder goes for Grönvall **
Kerstin Grönvall has been appointed as managing director of Sweden’s KPA Fonder. Grönvall, formerly project leader at KPA Pensions, replaces Carina Lundberg, who is moving to become head of marketing at Folksam Kapitalförvaltning, the capital management arm of insurance group Folksam.
** Novikova steps up for Russia role **
Katya Novikova has been promoted securities manager in Russia at Citibank Worldwide Securities Services. Novikova will be responsible for services for financial intermediaries and global investors. She formerly worked as head of internal control and quality assurance departments.
** JLT announces post merger team **
Jardine Lloyd Thompson UK has announced the senior management team for its new employee benefit division following the merger between Jardine Reeves Brown and Abbey National Benefit Consultants. Peter Redhead will head up benefit solutions, Barry Oswald will be in charge of administration services and Lyndon Jones will lead financial services.
** KAS promotes Kramer **
Ben Kramer has been appointed head of sales and acquisitions for the department of institutional relations in Europe and the UK at KAS-Associatie, the Dutch custodian bank. Kramer has been with KAS since 1998 dealing with acquisition and product development.
** Smith snared by BAM **
Baring Asset Management (BAM) has appointed Daniel Smith to its UK institutional pooled fund team. Smith, who will focus on sales and the running of BAM’s new life funds and OEIC range, joins from Prudential’s pension business where he worked within the operations, sales and e-commerce teams.
