UK – Aon Consulting has been appointed as actuarial adviser, pensions consultant and scheme administrator to the £12m (€19.5m) defined benefit (DB) pension plan of the Crown Estate.
Aon will run the three year mandate from its London and Corydon offices.
The Crown Estate, which includes substantial blocks of urban property, 120,000 hectares of agricultural land and extensive marine holdings across the UK, established its pension scheme in the early 1990s and it remains relatively small.
The appointment follows a decision by the fund’s trustees to integrate the administration and actuarial services with a service provider that could also take care of routine legal documentation and members’ booklets.
Says Tony Bickmore, director of urban estates and chairman of the trustees at Crown Estates: We selected Aon Consulting as a consultancy who best shared our aspiration to provide this high level of service to our membership.”
