SWEDEN – Lars Idermark, managing director of the SEK158.1bn (€16.7bn) Andra AP-fonden, AP2, is to leave the buffer fund to join consumer association KF as chief executive.

AP2 said in a statement that the recruitment process for Idermark’s replacement would start straight away. But for the time being it is not clear whether the board would make an internal or external appointment, spokeswoman AnCi Johannisson said.

“We are sorry he is leaving, but we understand. He has worked for AP2 for five years and has done a fantastic job,” Johannisson said. Idermark was not available for comment.

Idermark will leave the scheme at the end of October to take over at KF, which is the association for Sweden’s more than 60 consumer associations, in October. He will succeed Börje Fors, who is to retire as CEO but will head KF’s media division.

Last month the Swedish government appointed a new member, Anders Jansson, to the board of directors.

Jansson succeeded Kurth Augustson who retired from the board. Jansson retains his role as president and chief executive of recycling company Stena Metall.
