GLOBAL - Rob Lake, APG's head of sustainability and governance, has joined the United Nation's Principles for Responsible Investment.
From 16 May, Lake will assume the position of director of strategic development. APG has yet to name a successor.
Lake worked for Henderson Global Investors as head of corporate engagement prior to joining APG four years ago and has also worked at Traidcraft Exchange as head of policy.
He will be responsible for a number of UNPRI's day-to-day activities, including its academic and public policy networks, as well as signatory outreach.
James Gifford, executive director at UNPRI, said Lake's experience would be extremely valuable in taking the initiative forward.
Chair Wolfgang Engshuber added: "He is the ideal individual to join this fast-growing initiative and will be vital in delivering on our strategy as we celebrate five years of the initiative."
A spokesman for APG added: "We sincerely appreciate the work he has done over the last four years in setting up the ESG team and integrating ESG criteria into our investment criteria, and wish him all the best in this new prestigious role."
APG manages €277bn in assets, the vast majority of which is done on behalf of the Netherlands' largest pension scheme, ABP.
