UK – London-based Axa Rosenberg Investment Management has appointed Gordon Strachan as a UK portfolio manager to its specialist equity management team.

Strachan, who will report to chief investment officer, David Cooke, joins from Rothschild Asset Management where he was also a fund manager. He has also previously managed assets for Paris-based Rothschild & Cie and Edinburgh Fund Managers.

Strachan’s appointment is part of a recent recruitment drive in London to expand the London office to cope with growth in its European business.

“The recruitment drive is not indicative of a change of direction or strategy but we are managing more assets now and our European business is doing well. We don’t plan to open any other offices in Europe at the moment so we are building up our teams here in London,” Cooke explains.

Axa Rosenberg has offices in California, London, Singapore and Tokyo. Globally, the company currently manages some $14.3bn (€15.2bn), of which €4bn are European assets.
