UK/EUROPE – Baring Asset Management (BAM) has poached Percival Stanion from BNP Paribas Asset Management to become a head of UK and European investment management.
Stanion, former head of asset allocation and strategy as well as chairman of the investment policy committee at BNP Paribas, joins BAM as an asset allocation specialist in the company’s strategic policy group, which sets the company’s country, currency and sector strategy for multi-asset portfolios.
He will be responsible for portfolio management of multi-asset portfolios for UK and European clients, reporting to James Williams, chairman of the group.
Prior to BNP Paribas, Stanion ran the global diversified accounts team at Pictet Asset Management.
Stanion succeeds Michael Hughes, who was promoted chief investment officer of BAM in July 2000 and remains a member of the strategic policy group.
