UK – John Misselbrook has joined Baring Asset Management as chief operating officer. Misselbrook will also sit on the board of the company and on its executive and salary committees, reporting to John Bolsover, chairman and chief executive officer of the firm.
Succeeding Peter Walsh, who is retiring, Misselbrook will be responsible for the groups operations and services: information technology, human resources, risk, electronic business, business services and special projects.
“John brings to this vital role a great deal of strategic management experience and expertise in information technology, operations and finance. He has a deep background in our two principal business lines: investment management and financial services,” says Bolsover.
Misselbrook joins the asset manager from the WM Company, where he was managing director of investment administration.
Previously, Misselbrook worked for LGT Asset Management as chief financial officer and after the INVESCO buy-out became director of operations for Asia.
