UK - Bank of Ireland Asset Management has named Olivier Santamaria as managing director of Bank of Ireland Asset Management (UK) Ltd.
He takes over from David Boal who quit amid a series of management departures towards the end of last year. Santamaria had been acting head of BIAM’s UK business.
Boal joined five previous defectors, including former deputy Bank of Ireland CIOs Des Sullivan and John Nolan, senior portfolio managers Richard Kelly and John Forde and portfolio manager Sarah Molloy as they moved en masse to Australian financial services group Perpetual.
BIAM said Santamaria has been a senior member of BIAM’s Irish institutional business for the last five years, where he was responsible for a team of relationship managers.
Before joining BIAM, he spent seven years at Scotiabank as country manager for France.
“We are very pleased to have appointed Olivier to head up BIAM’s UK business,” said BIAM chief executive Kevin Dolan. “His considerable experience will prove invaluable to us as the UK continues to be a key focus for growth.”
