UK - Baring Asset Management has hired David Kiddie, former head of equities at Rothschild Asset Management.

He will replace Don Walker, who is retiring as director of investment process at the end of December after nine years with the company.

Kiddie, who will join on December 1, was formerly chief investment officer, retail, at Insight Investments. He took on this role when Rothschild Asset Management was bought by Insight. He had previously been CIO of equities at RAM.

Kiddie, who spent four years at BAM in the 1980s, will report to chief investment officer Michael Hughes.

Hughes said: “The role of director of investment process is absolutely central to our investment strategy. BAM’s rigorous investment processes are designed to provide a consistent and disciplined approach across all asset classes and products.”

Baring Asset Management, part of Dutch bank ING, has more than 19 billion pounds under management.
