UK - Barnett Waddingham, the UK-based actuarial consultancy company, has bought fellow consulting actuary Garvins for an undisclosed sum.
The two companies announced in statement this afternoon their combined offering will bolster Barnett Waddingham's client base, "which now stands at over 4000, including pension schemes with funds sizes in excess of £2bn."
The company claims it is now the largest "independent firm of actuaries in the UK" as Garvins, based near Birmingham, provides actuarial and investment consultancy services to around 100 UK defined benefit pension schemes, which have funds worth up to £200m each.
The deal will also give Barnett Waddingham its first Birmingham office, alongside branches in Amersham, Cheltenham, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool and London.
Adrian Waddingham, senior partner at the company, commented today: "We are thrilled with the merger, especially given our shared culture, ethos and style."
