UK - Barclays Global Investors (BGI) has appointed Stan Beckers to the new position of senior investment strategist within its £30bn (€44.8 bn) European active equity business.
Beckers joined on Monday to BGI’s 30 member–strong active equity business team that now manages £100bn for institutional investors around t he world. Of this £100bn, the European active equity business team manages £30bn.
Beckers reports to Matthew Annable, chief investment officer of Europe, Active Equity at BGI.
Annable, head of the equity business launched in 1971, said: “Investors want long-term consistent out performance, Stan will help BGI to continue to deliver this to our clients by playing an important role in the future development of our investment strategies.”
Beckers worked at risk management providers BARRA for nearly 20 years and then was global head of investments at West LB Asset Management and set-up and ran the investment arm of Kedge Capital. He is also visiting professor of Finance at the University of Leuven, Belgium.
