EUROPE - André van den Heuvel, BlackRock's managing director for institutional business in the Benelux region, will join ING as a board member in May.
In his new role, he will oversee marketing and sales activities for ING Investment Management across the whole of Europe.
Michael van Elk, chief executive and chief marketing officer at ING, welcomed the appointment.
"With his appointment, the management board will be complete," he said.
"André has an enormous amount of experience in institutional markets that will be an asset as we work to fulfil our ambition of becoming a global top-tier asset manager."
BlackRock confirmed that the replacement for Van den Heuvel, who was responsible for Benelux institutional business organisation and business development, would be his deputy, Hessel van Beijma.
Van den Heuvel, who spent five years at BlackRock, has worked for F&C in the past, as well as being head of investment management at Achmea Global Investors.
He began his career at Robeco and holds a degree from Rotterdam's Erasmus University.
His last day at BlackRock was earlier this month.
