GLOBAL - Mike O'Brien, former head of EMEA institutional business at BlackRock, has been named global head of JP Morgan Asset Management's (JPMAM) newly formed institutional client group.
O'Brien, whose departure from BlackRock was reported by IPE in June, will be based in London and report to JPMAM's chief executive Mary Callahan Erdoes, while also joining the JPMorgan Chase's executive committee.
Erdoes said: "Mike's impressive institutional experience, proven track record and extensive global perspective will continue to enhance our offering to major institutional investors in every corner of the world."
JPMAM is ranked fifth in IPE's list of Top 400 asset managers, with €873bn in assets under management as at the end of last year.
O'Brien, who studied mathematics at Limerick University in Ireland, spent 10 years at Barclays Global Investors, which was acquired by BlackRock last year.
