UK - BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed IBM UK’s Kay Hayre to the role of global relationship manager covering financial intermediaries.
Hayre’s appointment comes as part of a team-restructuring phase started six months ago, said Chris Rowland, head of sales and relationship management for UK financial intermediaries.
She has joined BNP Paribas from IBM UK Ltd, where she developed strategic relationships with key banking clients, BNP Paribas said in a statement.
With the new role, which she took up on March 1, Hayre has been given “senior responsibilities” in strategy with the firm’s top clients, predominantly broker dealers and global custodians, as well as sales and on-going relationship, he also said.
Hayre is also supposed to liaise with an “extended” internal network of relationship managers across Europe. Based in London, Hayre reports to Rowland.
“We are trying to tackle our clients in a far more focused way, by making sure we have the right people in our client-facing roles,” Rowland told IPE.
He explained his team now consists of global relationship managers, “who are very much focused on our top client base” and a business development arm looking at “mid-tier names”.
“We strongly believe there is a good appetite for BNP Paribas Securities Services in London for the UK market, so I am going to extend to another client relationship manager later this year as we develop the sub-custody business in the UK.”
