EUROPE – The Bank of New York has named a new head of relationship management for pension funds in the UK and Europe.

It said Ann Ellis, most recently sales director at transaction cost analysis provider Inalytics, takes over from Cameron Finnemore, who now heads relationship management for UK banks and insurers.

“Based in London, she will be responsible for managing the bank's pensions relationship management team and maintaining and developing relationships with its pension fund clients,” the bank said.

She will report to Richard Beaven, managing director of the bank’s European investor services. Before Inalytics, Ellis was head of sales at Swiss Life Asset Management.

Late last year the group named Timothy Keaney as its new head in Europe, taking over from Jeffrey Tessler. Meanwhile, Keaney has commented on the recent report by Paul Myners on share voting.

“The Bank of New York is supportive of the recommendations of the Myners Review,” Keaney said. “Voting responsibility ultimately lies with the beneficial owners, and issuers are responsible for ensuring that there is an adequate flow of information. We look forward to working with the SVWG and the market to ensure a transparent and efficient process.”
