NETHERLANDS – Cor Boonstra has been appointed to the supervisory board of Dutch financial services group ABN-AMRO, with effect from May 10, 2001.
Boonstra is president and chairman of the board of management at Royal Philips Electronics.
Previously he has been president and chief operating officer of Sara Lee.
Also with effect from May 10, Wim Dik, Silas Keehn, Cees van der Hoeven and Maarten van Veen have been re-appointed to the supervisory board. Roelof Nelissen, Huub van Engelshoven and Rob Hazelhoff will resign from the board, having reached the maximum age for serving on it.
** Baillie Gifford bolsters client services operations **
UK – Baillie Gifford has made three appointments to its client services team.
Peter Hadden joins as director with responsibility for North American clients, while Shona Casely and Anthony Dickson are appointed as managers for UK segregated funds.
Hadden moves from Aegon Asset Management where he was head of European equities. Casely was formerly at IAI International and Dickson was at Abbey National Asset Managers.
** BAM chases Rainbow **
UK – James Rainbow has been appointed UK marketing manager at Baring Asset Management. He will be mainly responsible for marketing the company’s UK open-ended funds.
Rainbow joins from Govett Investment Management, where he was senior marketing manager, responsible for all areas of the department.
In addition, Alasdair Anderson has been appointed European product specialist at the manager. He will be the main sponsor of the firm’s pan-European large capital product range.
Anderson moves from Gartmore Investment Management, where he was head of investment communication.
** Deeprose to Jupiter **
Matthew Deeprose has been appointed as sales and marketing executive for ethical and environmental funds at Jupiter Asset Management. He joins from National Provident Institution and will be responsible for promoting the company’s socially responsible investment vehicles.
** Court and Irani venture to Advent **
Frédéric Court and Isabelle Irani join Advent Venture Partners, the venture capitalist specialising in the technology and healthcare sectors. Court joins from Etexx, a French e-business solutions provider for the textiles industry. Irani moves from Lehman Brothers, where she worked as equity researcher in the European internet sector.
** FIS hires new SRI analysts **
Steve Waygood and Olivia Lankaster have been appointed senior analysts to the socially responsible investment unit at Friends Ivory & Sime. Waygood joins from the global environmental network WWF, where he was head of environmental management and ethical investment. Lankaster leaves PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was a management consultant responsible for strategy consulting across private and public sectors.
