UK- Ronnie Bowie has been named as senior partner at actuarial and consulting firm Hymans Robertson and as a replacement for Mike Arnold who is becoming senior principal of the recently established Milliman UK.
Bowie has been head of the firm’s employee benefits practice for six years and will continue to divide his time between the company’s offices in England and Scotland. He has been with the company for twenty two years and has specialised in pensions and investment consultancy.
Said Bowie of his appointment: “at a time when there is again a public recognition of the virtue of independence, one of Hyman Robertson’s core values, it is a privilege to lead this outstanding firm.”
“There can hardly have been a time when leadership in pensions has been more important and more challenging. The confidence of a generation has been shaken by the end of the stock market boom, the publicity about closure of final salary pension schemes and worries about the stability of once venerable financial institutions.”
