The director of the Belgian Association of Pension Funds in Brussels, Leon Brasseur has left the association in order to develop his career directly within the pensions industry. Hugo Clemeur has been named as his successor.
Brasseur, who had been with the association for three years, saw its activities grow across a number of fronts and he now aims to bring his experience to bear either within the second pillar in Belgium working for a pension fund, or for an insurance group active in the pensions market.
His successor, Clemeur worked for French insurance and financial group, Axa until March 2000 and is currently a professor and actuary at the Catholic University of Leuven, where Brasseur will act as visiting professor at the economics department from September.
