UK- Cambridge University Press has published the first issue of the Journal of Pension Economics and Finance, an academic journal focusing on the economics and finance of pensions. Founding editors are Mike Orszag, head of research at Watson Wyatt, Jeff Brown of Harvard, Steve Haberman of City University, and Moshe Milevsky of Canada’s York University.

"The journal fills an important gap for policymakers and regulators. Despite major differences in pension systems, many of the issues faced in different countries are quite similar," said Andre Laboul, Head of Financial Affairs Division at the OECD and managing editor of the new journal.

The first issue is already available and looks at controlling the cost of minimum benefit guarantees in public pension conversions, gender-specific risks and returns in relation to social security, and how China might solve its old-age security problem.
