UK - Capita Life and Pensions has appointed John Connor as its new sales and marketing director.

“John's remit is to further develop and expand the company through strategic partnerships and ensure its continued leading position in the life and pensions market,” the outsourcing firm said.

It said he previously had a similar role at Unisys and was formerly corporate development director at Abbey Life. Before that he was as a management consultant at PA Consulting.

"John's appointment, with his extensive experience of sales and marketing, represents a significant addition to our business,” said Steve Parkinson, managing director of Capita Life and Pensions.

“We are looking forward to his contribution in continuing to further develop a business which has grown by 40% in each of the last three years and one that is expected to continue to increase its market share and dominance of the market."

The firm also named Graham Coxell as the new managing director of Capita PPML, from March 1.

Capita PPML was formed when Capita bought Winterthur Life UK's subsidiary Personal Pensions Management.
