FRANCE - The Paris based former CDC Asset Management has seen in the new-year with a name change, becoming CDC IXIS.
As part of the re-branding the group will now focus on three major business activities; asset management – including financial assets, real estate and private equity, capital markets and finance, and banking and securities services.
CDC says the new moniker heralds a strategy of growth in asset management, including the seeking of partnerships - notably with the Caisse d’Epargne group, and acquisitions.
“ With the creation of CDC IXIS, the group takes a determined step forward in its mutation and in the implementation of its development project.
“ There are very few French groups, no more than three or four, able to play a major part in the field of wholesale investment banking in Europe and CDCIXIS is one of them in the activities it has decided to pursue,” comments Daniel Lebègue, director general of CDC and president of the board of CDC IXIS.
