EUROPE - Alberto Corinti as resigned as secretary general of the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS).

At its annual member meeting, CEIOPS named Carlos Montalvo, of the Spanish supervisory body Dirección General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones - a member of CEIOPS - as its new secretary general.

Montalvo will start his new role on October 15 and then take over fully from Corinti on November 1 following a transition period.

Corinti told IPE he will be leaving the pension fund sector to join the European insurance and reinsurance federation CEA.
