UK - Mercer Human Resource Consulting says it has been appointed to provide administration services for the defined benefit pension arrangements of energy company Centrica, covering more than £2.5bn (€3.6bn) in assets.
It said the appointment relates to three schemes with a total membership of more than 30,000.
Centrica was assisted by actuaries Lane, Clark and Peacock in the selection of a new third party administrator, Mercer added.
"During a thorough selection process, we were impressed with Mercer's depth of resource and felt the company was best placed to provide the quality of service required," said David Byrne, Centrica's group pensions manager.
"We believe our team's commitment and professionalism helped to secure this appointment," said Mercer principal Mark Lilly. "We are delighted with this success and are very pleased to further extend our relationship with Centrica."
