EUROPE - Christian Elsmark, managing director, Europe at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), has departed after two years in the role, IPE understands.
A spokeswoman for the company refused to comment, while Elsmark was unavaliable.
Elsmark, who joined SWIP from BNP Paribas in August 2008, was in charge of Scandinavia, Spain Italy and Germany during his time at the company.
At SWIP, Elsmark reported to Simon Wombwell, who was head of sales & marketing at the time. Wombwell was replaced by John Brett in August following his resignation.
During his two years in the role Elsmark, who was head of multi-management platform FundQuest while at BNP, was charged with expanding SWIP's European client base.
Over the last two decades, he has worked at T Rowe Price, as vice president for investment services, and held roles at both JP Morgan and Rothschild Asset Management.
Elsmark holds degrees from both the University of Edinburgh and Cass Business School in London.
Upon joining Scottish Widows two years ago, Elsmark said: "I am drawn to SWIP's overall commitment to creating value for its clients and to growing its international business with a great team, who I am looking forward to working with."
