UK - Jackie Bliss has been appointed as director of Finance for the National Church Institutions of the Church of England.
From mid-August Bliss will be responsible for the financial management and reporting for the Archbishops' Council, the Church Commissioners for England and the Church of England Pensions Board.
The three bodies have a combined annual turnover of around £300mn and an asset base of more than £5bn.
It is the first time that a joint finance director has been appointed for all three National Church institutions.
Though the organisations work together closely, each has its own distinct legal responsibilities, duties and governance arrangements.
Withdrawing from her non-executive director posts at the Southend University Hospital Foundation Trust and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bliss said: "It will be my priority to ensure that financial systems help in focusing decision-making, coordinating strategy and evaluating the effectiveness of projects, in a way which enables and enhances that mission."
