GERMANY - Mathias Giebken has been appointed as Citigroup's new head of institutional sales for alternative investments in Germany and Austria, it was announced today.
From today Giebken is responsible for the firm's entire alternative investment range, but in particular he will focus on private equity, real estate, structured investment products and hedge funds, group said.
He will work from both Frankfurt and London as Citigroup manages its alternative investment products from both cities: "Alternative investments is a product that is marketed strongly from London and we want the best possible information flow," it said.
Previously, Giebken was managing director at Auda Deutschland. In this newly created role, he will report to Philip Anker, European head of institutional sales and marketing of Citigroup Alternative Investments, and Stefan Mülheim, member of Citigroup Global Markets Deutschland's executive board.
