UK - Derek Scott, chairman of the board of the Stagecoach Group pension scheme, has become a trustee of the UK’s Mineworkers’ Pension Scheme.
He replaces Peter Keenan whose term has ended at the 10.4 billion pounds (15.6 billion euros) Sheffield-based scheme.
Scott is a prominent figure in the UK pensions industry. He is a member of the National Association of Pension Funds’ investment council and chairman of its shareholder affairs committee.
As well as chairing the Stagecoach scheme he is a trustee at the UK’s Railways Pension Trustee Company.
Scott’s appointment to the mineworkers’ scheme is made by the Department of Trade and Industry. He joins a ten-strong board chaired by Norman Braithwaite.
Scott is former company secretary of Stagecoach Group.
