UK – Credit Suisse Asset Management has launched six new funds to add to its range of pooled pension funds, and an investor OEIC comprising an initial nine sub funds.

Credit Suisse Asset Management currently runs ten pooled pension funds in the UK across the asset classes of equity, fixed income and property, and has added a further six. Two of the new funds will be investing in the UK fixed income market – one investing in UK Gilts and one in Sterling Credit. The four other funds will be invested in overseas equities, covering Europe, the US, Japan, and Asia-Pacific ex-Japan.

The launch of the investor OEIC, or open-ended investment company, aims to make the advantages of collective investment available to institutional clients other than approved pension funds. Says CSAM: “The OEIC provides us with an investment vehicle suitable for distribution channels that have not previously been accessible, such as investment platforms, charities and ‘white label’ client requests.”

Says Jim Owen, co-head of UK institutional business at CSAM: “The extended range will help us to compete more effectively in the marketplace, particularly in the highly competitive DC market.”
