EUROPE - Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) has appointed Andreas Varnavides as Head of European Institutional Sales following the resignation of Mark Scott from the position.
Scott has agreed to stay at DeAM until the end of December in order to effect a smooth transition.
Varnavides, who will be based in London and Frankfurt, joined DeAM in 1996, and is currently head of institutional sales in Germany and Austria, as well as head of business management in Germany.
He will retain responsibility for these positions, in addition to his new appointment.
James Goulding, head of Deutsche Bank’s private client asset management (PCAM) division in the UK, comments:
“Andreas’ experience makes him the obvious candidate. He has already made a huge contribution in developing institutional relationships in the German and Austrian markets.
“Mark was the architect of our pan-European institutional sales and marketing platform, and his success is evidenced by the fact that the annual sales target was achieved in August this year, several months ahead of schedule in difficult markets. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
