GLOBAL - The 2005 IPE/AIMSE Scholarship has gone to Sibel Bostanci, head of institutional sales at investment management firm Delta Lloyd in Germany.
Wiesbaden-based Bostanci will attend the AIMSE/Wharton Investment Institute at the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, in January.
The one-week programme is designed to boost sales managers’ marketing and financial knowledge. The first day alone covers marketing segmentation, asset allocation, performance measurement and behavioural finance.
The scholarship covers all classroom materials, meals and accommodation.
“As a sales professional you’re picking up information daily but you don’t often get a chance to fit it all together,” Bostanci said. “The overview will be a source of new ideas and it’s the perfect platform for international networking with high-profile participants.”
She said she was unfazed by a week of hard work. “The intensity is an advantage. Usually, learning competes with client presentations, preparation and even your private life for attention. Here I’ll get to concentrate on the content without the usual interruptions.”
Judges IPE editor Fennell Betson and John Gee-Grant, head of the global consultants group at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, selected Bostanci from an international pool of strong candidates.
AIMSE is the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives.
