UK - Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) has announced the appointments of Brian Collings as head of emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Andrew Ness as a fund manager for the same regions, in a bid to strengthen its global emerging markets investment capability.
Collings will oversee DeAM’s institutional and retail fund management efforts for EMEA equities and formerly head up an EMEA team at WestLB Asset Management.
Ness joins from Murray Johnstone where he accumulated a six year track record in managing EMEA equities.
Matt Linsey, head of the emerging markets team at DeAM, comments: “ I have been working for some time to get the right people into the team in London and I’m confident that Bryan and Andrew will be valuable additions. We are continually aiming to improve our proprietary database, which aims to cover the top 80% of the MSCI EMF index. In addition we make sure we leverage off the best practices of the developed market team, for example, using a common global valuation platform.”
