NETHERLANDS - Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) has appointed former Barclays Capital Benelux chief Michel Alofs as a senior institutional sales manager for the Netherlands, in what the firm says is a clear indication of its intent to increase institutional business in Holland.
Alofs, who will report to Gerard Roelofs, country head and head of institutional marketing and sales for the Benelux region, had lately been working in the global markets division of Deutsche Bank, where he was country head for the Netherlands.
His appointment follows the recruitment of Owen Thiers as vice president, institutional sales earlier this year.
Gerard Roelofs, comments: “Michel’s arrival enables us to further strengthen our Dutch operation. He brings with him a wealth of understanding of the market, its products and the requirements of the institutional investor. His proven track record with pension funds, banks and insurance companies puts him in a position to be of great value for DeAM and our clients in the Netherlands.”
