GERMANY – Benedikt Köster, former international pension accounting chief in Germany for Aon Jauch & Huebener Consulting, has been appointed director of group pensions at Deutsche Post.
Köster was at Aon for two years, where he was the German expert for all kinds of accounting and valuation questions, and global actuary for some of Aon's multinational clients.
Köster, who left Aon in February, is now based at Deutsche Post AG headquarters in Bonn. He started on March 6.
This is a new position at Deutsche Post. “The objective of this new function is to ensure a worldwide uniform approach to retirement benefits and related assets in line with group policies,” he told IPE.
Köster reports to corporate finance chief Bernd Boecken. He will also head up a team, but it is yet to be established.
His responsibilities include the maintenance of corporate benefit guidelines, the design/redesign of pension or healthcare plans, and ALM.
