GLOBAL - Computer firm Electronic Data Systems has named Anthony Glasby as its new corporate treasurer, a role which is responsible for pensions management worldwide.
The Texas-based company said its board of directors has elected Glasby as vice president and treasurer, replacing Ron Vargo, who was recently named executive vice president and chief financial officer for EDS.
"In his new position, Glasby is responsible for all domestic and international treasury activities including pension management, corporate investments, risk management and insurance," a statement said.
"Tony brings a wealth of experience to this position," said Vargo. "His international and corporate treasury experience, along with his strong leadership skills, will serve him well as the head of EDS' global treasury operations. We are pleased to have Tony join our senior leadership team."
Glasby joined EDS in the UK in 1987, and was most recently assistant treasurer. He's a graduate of the University of Westminster in London and is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
