UK – Ramy Bourgi, the former co-head of JP Morgan’s European custody business, has been appointed business development director at Cambridge Place Investment Management.

An official at the asset-based securities specialist told IPE that he had joined recently. However, CPIM declined to comment further.

IPE reported in October that Bourgi left JP Morgan “to pursue other opportunities” amid a restructuring of the division’s management.

In April 2005, the investment bank announced that Bourgi would head up client management, customer service, sales strategy and product management in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He would also share the position of EMEA regional head with global clearance business head and combined business infrastructure manager Liz Nolan.

Upon his departure, Nolan took over as sole European head for JP Morgan Worldwide Securities Services.

CPIM is a global investment management group, which concentrates on the structured finance product market – mainly asset-backed securities, according to its website.

Professionals are based in London and Boston, and investment management services are offered from three investment platforms: open-end funds; closed-end funds and separate accounts.

It is unclear whether Bourgi has replaced anyone or whether this is a new appointment.
