UK - Fidelity Investments has named Martin Harris as managing director of UK Defined Benefits reporting to David Stewart, president of the European Institutional Business.
He joins from First State Investments where he was head of UK institutional business, Fidelity said.
"This is a new appointment and shows our continued commitment to growing our UK DB business," said Stewart.
"The demands of the market means we now need to be even more attuned to the changing needs of institutional investors.
"We believe it is key to our continued success for us to provide our existing and prospective clients with equity and fixed income products that have that crucial competitive edge."
Between 1997 and 1999 Harris worked at Gartmore Investments. He is expected to join Fidelity in November.
