FINLAND – Magnus Backstrom has been appointed as chief investment officer for the OP Bank Group Insurance and Pensions.
Backstrom joins the OP Bank Group, (formerly known as the OKO Bank Group) from Nordea Life and Pensions, where he was head of alternative investments. He has had extensive experience in the investment and insurance industry both in Finland and internationally.
Backstrom replaces Matti Kuhakoski in the role as chief investment officer, and will start on December 15.
The OP Bank Group Insurance and Pensions include Aurum Life Assurance Company, OP Bank Group Pension Fund, OP Bank Group Pension Foundation and OP Bank Group Mutual Insurance.
The combined assets of these companies totals 3.5 billion euros.
