UK – US quant house, First Quadrant, has appointed Bill Goodsall as chairman and promoted Robert Brown to the position of managing director in its London office.

Goodsall, managing director of UK and Europe at First Quadrant since 1992, says: “This is a well deserved promotion for Robert.”

Brown first joined the firm in1995 and has been responsible for major customer relationships, asset management operations and operational management.

The moves are part of a Pan-Europe expansion drive by First Quadrant as pension funds and other financial institutions increase their use of alternative investments.
