UK – London-based asset manager Friends Ivory & Sime (FIS) has appointed Robert Mathews as head of institutional business. Matthews will replace Paul Richards, who is leaving to join Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
Matthews will report to Peter Arthur, managing director of institutional funds and investment trusts at FIS. He is currently managing director of institutional funds at Royal & SunAlliance Investments which Friends Ivory & Sime is in the process of acquiring. He will take up his new position upon completion of the acquisition.
Says Arthur: “Matthews has in-depth experience of equity and fixed interest markets and a long track record of working with institutional clients and investment consultants. He is the ideal person to lead our institutional team and develop this important part of our business.”
