UK - Friends Ivory & Sime (FIS) has announced two new senior UK management changes, with Peter Arthur becoming managing director for the group’s retail and institutional business and Barry Sanjana, chief investment officer (CIO), joining the board as an Executive Director.

The appointment of Arthur, who will report to FIS chief executive Howard Carter, follows the announcement that Gary Mairs is to leave the company.
An Executive Director of Friends Ivory & Sime since 1999, Arthur adds to his existing responsibilities for investment trusts.

Sanjana joined FIS as CIO in October 2000 and has overall responsibility for the ongoing development and co-ordination of Friends Ivory & Sime's investment management activities.
He formerly held the position of CIO at Morley Fund Management.
