IRELAND - Anne Maher, former CEO of The Pensions Board, the Irish pensions regulator, is one of three new appointments to the board of the Allied Irish Banks (AIB), one of the country's major banking groups.
Maher, who was selected for the Outstanding Industry Contribution Award at last year's IPE Awards in Paris by the IPE readers, becomes a non-executive director.
After handing over the Pensions Board leadership to Brendan Kennedy, Maher now is a board member of the Irish Accounting and Auditing Supervisory Auhority and was recently appointed as first chair of the medical Council's Performance Committee. She is also a member of the UK's Professional Oversight Board, and of the FTSE Policy Group, and a Governor of the Pensions Policy Institute (UK).
The other appointments to the AIB board are: Dan O'Connor (non-executive director), previously president and CEO of Dublin-based GE Consumer Finance.Donal Forde (executive director), managing director of AIB Bank RoI Division.
