BELGIUM – Fortis Investments has appointed Bob Adams as its new global head of information services, based in Brussels.
Adams’ responsibility will be to integrate the IT infrastructure on a global basis. He will oversee the management and delivery of all aspects of information services, from strategy to infrastructure, through systems implementation to service delivery.
Previously Claude van Baelen headed up IT services, but not with a global overview. He has now taken on other responsibilities within Fortis. Adams’ focus will be on developing the global synergies. He will spearhead a number of initiatives, including global integration of various systems and trading capabilities and the development and maintenance of Fortis Investments’ global technical architecture, networks, systems and hardware.
Prior to joining Fortis, Adams was at WestAM in London. He has also held positions with Fidelity Investments and Paribas, covering both their institutional and retail market activities.
Adams reports to Jean-Philippe Bailly, managing director of operations.
Fortis Investments has 76.3 billion euros in assets under management.
