EUROPE – Fortis Bank has appointed Ernst &Young’s Andrew Collins to the role of head of European client relationships.
He will manage a five-strong team and run client relationship management across Prime Fund Solutions’ banking and finance, fund administration and global custody clients.
“Andrew brings with him exceptional expertise and experience from the investment and hedge funds environment,” said Loost Loebler, chief commercial officer, Prime Fund Solutions.
Loebler said the appointment marks the firm’s commitment to UK and continental European clients.
Prime Fund Solutions offers support to administration and mid-office services, global custody, clearing, as well as equity financing and securities lending services.
Separately, Fortis announced that Jorge Calvet had resigned as chairman of Fortis Bank Iberia.
Calvet will set up his own business “engaging in several ventures with an international scope in various sectors in Spain,” the bank said in a statement.
The bank said: “Jorge has done a tremendous job integrating the various Fortis Bank’s businesses that are active in Spain, creating shared services for those businesses in nine locations throughout the country.”
His successor would be appointed “in due course”.
